The Women’s GC Open Championships was held at Manly Croquet Club, 21st to 23rd March, 2025.
There were 18 entrants, playing over 3 lawns. Entrants came from Mosman, Killara, Manly, Maitland, Royal Sydney Golf Club, Newcastle National Park, Canberra, Cammeray, Toronto, Belconnen, Sutherland and Byron Bay Croquet Clubs, as well as two entrants from Victoria, Williamstown and Mornington, and one from Tea Tree Gully in South Australia.
The tournament was won by Rosie Landrebe, (Cammeray) and the runner up was Brenda-Lee Peet (Maitland).
The tournament was played in good weather, some humid and overcast conditions with a few showers midday on two days, the final day being cloudy, but great playing conditions.
There was strong competition through all rounds, many games being hard fought, and almost all best of three went on to three games. We had very good spectator crowd who enjoyed some great semis and finals.
Manly hosted the tournament the three days, providing delicious lunches, morning and afternoon teas. The veranda area and gardens afforded spectators a delightful viewing area.
Janine Sisson, Rosie Landrebe, Brenda-Lee Peet, Elizabeth Montague
The work done on lawns during the two months prior to the tournament provided really excellent lawns for the players, a very high standard.
Manly was pleased to have had the State Member for Manly, James Griffin at the final to present the winner and runner up with their badges.
