Meet our Golf Croquet Selection Committee.

Kevin McGlynn

KEVIN McGLYNN, Chair

Kevin McGlynn is a Golf Croquet Selector with Croquet NSW, a Level 3 Golf Croquet Coach and an accredited GC Referee.
A long-standing and active competitor in New South Wales, Kevin represented Australia at the Over 50s World Championship in 2023. He was Captain of the NSW team at the 2024 Interstate Shield and Vice-Captain in 2025, reflecting his ongoing involvement at the highest level of state competition.
Kevin is deeply committed to player development and currently leads a Development Squad program focused on tactical awareness, decision-making under pressure, and competitive resilience. Through both coaching and refereeing, he brings a broad understanding of performance standards and match play expectations.
As a Selector, Kevin believes in a transparent and balanced approach — recognising performance and consistency, valuing team contribution, and supporting the continued growth of emerging players. His aim is to help build teams that are not only competitive, but cohesive and align with the standards expected of NSW representatives.

 

Liz Friend

LIZ FRIEND

Liz is a Golf Croquet Selector with Croquet NSW, and a Level 2 GC Coach. She has been playing GC for 9 years and has been an active competitor in NSW State events and various Club tournaments. Liz has been successful in CNSW Division 2 events and is a member of the newly established Development Squad in the Hunter and strives to improve her game significantly. She has been very supportive of the efforts to expand coaching across NSW and the ACT and is excited by the changes that can already be seen, particularly in player development and participation.
Liz has been a CNSW Board member for more than four years and during that time has prepared almost all the monthly newsletters, has been an active Committee member on various CNSW Working Groups, has been the Board’s GC representative, and for the past few years has been an Observer at the GC Selection Committee meetings. She represented the Board on the Committee for the 2025 Nationals in the Hunter. Liz will step down from the Board in March. 
Liz became a GC Selector in June 2025 and acknowledges the responsibility of the task. She appreciates the challenges that the Committee faces when making decisions to select the Squad and subsequently in reaching consensus on the Team which is put to the Board for approval.
Her background is Human Resources in the Australian Public Service, including a role with the Merit Protection Commission. Liz is deeply committed to fairness, transparency and team building, and has had extensive experience on employment selection panels and review committees.
For the past 14 years Liz has been very involved in Rotary having held Board positions, including Youth Protection Officer, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, and several terms as President.
Liz is an active member of her own Club, Nelson Bay, and has been on the Committee for most of the past 9 years.

 

Roslyn Johnstone

ROSLYN JOHNSTONE

Ros has been a Golf Croquet selector since 2022.
She brings to the Selection Committee her expertise as a Level 3 GC Coach and an Accredited GC Referee, having refereed at Australian Championships.
She has competed in GC at Women’s World, Australian and State Championships levels, and was a member of the State Team for 4 years.
Ros commenced her croquet career in 2000 and is committed to giving back to the game she loves by supporting and developing players' abilities at all levels. At present, she is co-ordinating the games of a group of Southern Sydney female players, with the view of developing their games to Regional Squad Eligibility.
Ros brings her administrative ability to the Selection Committee from her business career, and will be looking for ability, commitment, determination, and team spirit of players in her selection process.

 

Peter Landrebe

PETER LANDREBE

Peter came onto the NSW GC Selection Committee in 2025. He began playing Golf Croquet in 2008 and has been active in the code most years since then.
Commitments in croquet for 2026 include NSW Association Croquet Selector, Croquet Australia (CA) Events Advisory Committee, CA International Association Croquet Selector, CA Association Croquet High Performance Manager.
Peter is a proud member of the Cammeray Croquet Club and has always looked forward to chances of representing Cammeray, NSW or Australia when they arise.
Highlights in Golf Croquet include Representing NSW in the ISS 2014 and 2015, Australia in the WCF Golf Croquet World Championship 2015 and 2017, Captaining the WCF World Teams Championship 2020, and Captaining the Australian team in the 2015 and 2019 Trans Tasman Golf Croquet Tests.
When selecting a player into a team, Peter looks for the attribute in a player that isn’t just wanting to make the team as an individual goal, but a player that is looking to be part of a team - and bring an approach for them being selected as having a role of contributing to the success of the team collectively.

 

Alison Sharpe

ALISON SHARPE

Alison is presently a NSW State Selector for GC as well as for AC, and she is also the GC State Team Coach.
She won her first NSW State Championship in 2008 and has represented NSW in the Interstate Shield since 2014. Alison has also won The Australian Women’s Championship 5 times, with her most recent national win in 2025. She is currently ranked No 1 female player in Australia.
Alison is a Level 3 Accredited Coach and is particularly focused on coaching the tactical, technical and psychological aspects of Golf Croquet. She encourages confidence and empowerment and enjoys giving players a greater sense of self-belief.
She is presently involved with coaching the State Squad; this means travel across NSW which allows her to become very familiar with regional clubs and to understand where they lie in regards to their standard of play but also to recognise where these clubs need help in coaching at all levels.
Her past roles have involved being on the Croquet Australia Board as well as on the CNSW Board at various times over the last 15 years and this has held her in good stead for understanding what representing NSW really means and she particularly enjoys mentoring players at all levels and likes to introduce goals to new players that will then set them on a great path throughout their Croquet journey.

 

Jill Sullivan

JILL SULLIVAN

Jill has been an enthusiastic participant in Croquet since 2017 and has been a member of the Cooks River Croquet Club since 2019. She is currently an active member of the Southern Sydney Regional Development Squad. 
Jill represented NSW in State GC Team in the years 2022, 2023 and 2024, and had the honour of being Vice Captain in the latter 2 years.
She has competed in State and Australian GC Championships and competed internationally in the Egyptian Open GC Championship in September/October 2025.
Jill is proud to serve as a member of the Board of Cooks River Croquet Club.
She holds accreditation as a Level 1 GC Coach, allowing her to support and guide new players in their development.
In October 2025, Jill was appointed to the position of GC Selector. In this role, her aim is to
ensure that the selection process for NSW GC Croquet is fair, balanced, and objective.
