Development Squads
Development Squads are formed to develop players with potential to become representative players in Golf Croquet or Association Croquet. Squads are located at clubs around the state, and usually include at least 4 players with a coach or manager to run the coaching program.
Players, Clubs and Coaches are invited to apply to be included.
DEVELOPMENT SQUAD INVITATION [PDF]
PLAYERS
We are looking for players with potential and commitment to improve, train and compete at the State level.
- Squad members will be players with talent, who are committed to improvement, and are willing to commit to training and competition events over a minimum of a 12-month period.
- Squad members will generally be Division 1 or upper Division 2 players, or those from target groups (e.g. women or younger players) with potential for improvement who may be outside that range.
- Squad members will be identified by the AC or GC Selection Committees. They may also apply to be considered for membership of a Development Squad.
- Squad members will be asked to register and agree to player obligations and expectations including: attendance at training sessions, commitment to practice, entering competitions, and attending regional development contests.
- Squad members will normally sign up for a period of 12 months initially and may re-apply for subsequent years.
- A player subsidy applies for DS members or those who have to travel more than 50 kms for a squad training or competition session at 50% of the per km travel rate capped at $200 per player per year.

COACHES
We are looking for coaches willing to guide and develop talented players.
- Coaches for the squad will be based in the region in which the squad is located.
- There will be at least one coach per squad.
- They will normally be at least Level 2 Coaches in the code for which they are coaching.
- They will be eligible for reimbursements for CNSW Officials for duties pertaining to the coaching of the squad.
- They will receive guidelines to assist in the standards and training expected of squad members.
- There will be regular development of Squad coaches via online seminars, and access to visits by senior coaches.

Clubs
We are looking for clubs willing to host Development Squad training sessions.
- Clubs will provide access to a lawn or lawns on a monthly basis, and reimbursement for lawn hire is available.
- Clubs provide or support a local coach or squad co-ordinator who will organise training sessions monthly, provide guidance and mentorship for squad members.
- Squads may operate across a number of local clubs by mutual agreement to spread the lawn access and travel.
